Northern Thailand/Myanmar. Days are split evenly for both countries. There is much culture here to explore, sightseeing and hiking in the northern Thailand region (Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai). Discover the popular hill tribe hikes. Only in this part of the world where you can see a 20 ton solid gold Buddha statue, along with other places of interests like the floating market where James Bond filmed one of his movies and the golden pagodas. Activities in Myanmar include visits to the Shwedagon Pagodas, Bagan (World Heritage site), Inle Lake, Mandalay and the Long neck village. Because of the distance from US, travel days are included and not short you of your activities.

Overview:
Capacity for Four Springs varies. There are 5 “Founders” cabins that houses double accommodation, but can also take 3 total with one bed located in the foyer of the hut. Private bathroom is provided. If you can find partners to share, then cost will be split into 3 instead of two (only 3 of these units can occupy 3). For the campers, the campground is very spacious and can take up to 50 people, (my limit is 15). Bathroom, shower and facilities are shared. The charge is per person regardless of total number of campers for both. Cabin cost for single is $600, double sharing is $350 and $250 for triple sharing. Campers cost is $200. All three meals are included (except Thursday night and Sunday lunch, total of 3 breakfast, 2 lunches and 2 dinners) and healthy, fresh and vegetarian dishes will be served.

Retreat is a necessary component in our daily lives to find equilibrium through alignment. To retreat is to advance. To retreat is to rejuvenate, to reconcile and to restore. When the outside world is rushing us, we need to breathe slowly to keep us grounded, solid to embody strength, focus and balance.

Details:
Arrival is Thursday night. Unpack, relax and unwind. Orientation – early retirement for early Friday morning start.
Friday – Yoga, 6:30 – 7:00 am, meditation (optional). Yoga Asana, 7:00 – 8:00 am.
8:30 – breakfast. 9:30 hike – terrain is very friendly and easy.
12:00 – 3:00 pm, quiet time. All are encouraged to remain quiet and refrain from any conversations. During this time, listen to your inner voice, read, rest. Technical devices and electronic gadgets are not allowed; mobile phones, should be turned off. From 3:30- 4:30 pm, slowly break the silence with gentle music at the kitchen lodge area and join me for Yoga dharma (philosophy) and overview; a Q&A for aspiring yogis. Ask anything you want to know about yoga. This is entirely optional and you can continue with your silence if you want. From 4:45 – 5:30, yoga asana and pranayama (breathing). At 6:00 pm, dinner, then satsang (gathering of truth or gathering to share truth), finish with meditation, kirtan then sleep.

Saturday – Yoga, 6:30 – 7:00 am, meditation (optional). Yoga Asana, 7:00 – 8:00 am.

Sunday – Repeat of Fri/Sat morning routine. Option to hike or return home. Retreat adjourns.

  • Jun 30 – July 15, 2018

Ecuador. Start with city tour of Quito that includes Mitad del Mundo, then choices of different terrains for hiking (other options available). Head to Baños for adventures such as zipline, canyoning, Pailon del Diable visit, giant swing, tarabita (cable cars) and cascada (cascades) then off to Galapagos, island hopping and view protected species such as giant tortoises, blue footed boobies, frigate birds, snorkel and hike. Finish the trip with a visit to Guayaquil, the city’s financial hub and an optional extension to Cuenca. This is popular amongst potential and would be retirees to “check out” their possibilities.
